Georgia Burrell, a representative from the Foundation, recently met with Pauline Rafferty, Trusts Fundraising and Sarah Quarterman, CEO of Cardiac Rehab, one of the recipients of our Spring 2024 funding round.

Cardiac Rehab is dedicated to enhancing heart health, fitness and overall wellbeing for individuals across Hampshire who are at risk of or currently managing cardiovascular disease (CVD). While their primary focus is on supporting individuals with or at high risk of CVD, they also offer services for those who have undergone cardiac procedures, are living with heart or pulmonary disease, or have been identified by their GP as high-risk due to conditions like hypertension, obesity, or diabetes.

Our funding will help replace outdated gym equipment, some of which is 10 to 20 years old, that is essential to carrying out their exercise-based health programmes. Each year, approximately 750 participants benefit from these programmes, using equipment that’s integral to their fitness and health journeys. The new bikes will support the Health Programme Team’s six specialised exercise programmes, designed to accommodate individuals with a wide range of risk factors, chronic health conditions, comorbidities and varying fitness levels.
