Jennie Cartwright on her visit to Abby’s Heroes:
"It was a delight this week to visit Abby’s Heroes as a representative of the James Cowper Kreston Foundation to officially hand over a grant of £5000 towards the new Play Therapy Team that they are setting up.
When you meet a group of people who are really passionate about what they do and why they do it, it is quite humbling and I am delighted that we have been able to help them towards their goal. Kirsty, one of the team, told us how Play Therapy had helped her daughter Lily talk about her treatment and how she was feeling which was really inspiring to hear.
As with all these charities they spend time thinking of new and interesting ways to raise money – a circus themed dinner dance and dragon boat racing are all on the cards and I hope that we can continue to support the brilliant work this charity does in memory of Sally's daughter and Charlie's sister Abby."
